Rep. Suzanne Schmidt testifies on her legislation related to journey level electricians

Rep. Suzanne Schmidt, R-Spokane Valley, introduces her prime-sponsored House Bill 1393, to the House Labor and Workplace Standards Committee. The legislation would delay the required date from July 1, 2023 to July 1, 2025 for Washingtonians to complete an apprenticeship program in order to become commercial licensed electricians. Employers and employees in the commercial construction industry say this delay is needed as they are not ready to obtain certification before the July 1, 2023 date.
