Rep. Suzanne Schmidt speaks against bill that infringes on parental rights
Following a late-night debate Wednesday, the state House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 5599, legislation that exempts shelters and host homes for runaway children from having to notify parents when their children are seeking gender affirming care or reproductive health services.
Fourth District State Rep. Suzanne Schmidt, spoke against the bill during the debate. The bill passed the House on a party-line vote of 57-39.
